I know there are other recipes out there like this, but this is the extremely easy version I have. It happened when we didn't have the money for anymore food so I threw it together. My husband likes it alright and can't find reason to complain. You can use meat flavored sauce instead, but I thought it tasted weird. I didn't add cheese or seasonings (didn't have any) but you can easily customize this recipe the way you like it.
Ingredients:
1 Frozen Boneless Chicken Breast (Usually comes in 6lb bag for $5.99, so $2 at most)
1 Jar of Mushroom Flavored Spaghetti Sauce (est. $2)
1 Box of Spaghetti Noodles (est $1.50)
Total: $5.50
1. Thaw the chicken breast and throw it in the oven for as long as the package recommends.
2. Boil water and cook the noodles. Be sure to stir frequently or they might get gummy and stick together. Drain.
3. Put the sauce and noodles together in a pot. Dice up the chicken into bite sized pieces and throw them in the same pot. Stir.
4. Add seasonings of choice. I've used oregano, seasoned salt, and a sprinkle of Italian seasoned bread crumbs. You can also ad 1/3 a cup of parmesan cheese or just sprinkle at will when served.
